Carport-come-banqueting hall
This log frame was designed to create a beautiful, interesting and light space. Special effort was made to find curved timber for the braces which either have lap or mortice and tenon connections.
Small log house
Our current project is a fully insulated small log home (90m²). A two-bedroom cabin with an open plan living room/kitchen, large mezzanine floor and a huge decked verandah for sheltered dinning and craft space. Due to be finished in March 2024, check out our Instagram for more updates.
The logs are treated with borate (white powder seen on surface) as they dry out and can be cleaned and left natural, painted, stained or pine tar finish - to taste
Design for a Community-Build Round House with ancillary buildings
The brief was to design a beautiful yet highly functional multi purpose community shelter. This will be a teaching and learning project using largely volunteer labour, in an existing community woodland group, where some wood-working skills are already present.
Cannich Office
The office sits cantilevered over a 300ft gorge using recycled pilon steel. The oak post and beam frame, externally clad in untreated larch boards, has an establishing mineral soil roof to match the surroundings. It provides the perfect place to get creative and inspired.
Alan’s cabin in the woods
This beautiful little cabin has tree stump foundations, piece en piece scribe log walls and a wood shingle roof.
Matt’s getaway cabin
This simple cabin was designed to provide a quiet space to escape to. Built on-site from windblown Douglas fir logs, the cabin has full scribe walls, saddle corner notches, and post and purlin gables.
Design for a sheltered café extension
The brief was to design a functional, yet beautiful, outdoor seating area around a pizza oven - in keeping with the conservation village and woodland setting.
Dave’s workshop
A 150 meter square shed, for wood-working machinery and storage.
Ross’s home
The first simple log building which started the Bedrock story.
Originally built in Tomich, it was moved 5 miles down the road to our site at Bedrock.
