Log post & beam and roundwood framing

Here, logs are used for vertical posts, horizontal beams and diagonal braces. These components are then connected with traditional pegged joinery to form structural frames. The buildings can then be open sided or in-filled with insulated or non-insulated walls, or a mix of the two.

Horizontal log work

This woodworking style involves stacking and fitting logs horizontally to build a sturdy air-tight wall. This style is typical of the North American frontier cabin. This style can be partnered beautifully with round wood framing to give inside-outside spaces, sheltered porches, garden rooms etc. Internal exposed framing for the roof, stairs, and internal walls can also feature round log framing techniques.
